The Bible has been referred to as, “A mystery has hidden from the beginning of time.”
Colossians 1:26. “The mystery hidden was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people.” It says, “The mystery hidden . . .” Well, we know that it’s hidden. And if so, obviously we do not see the mystery with our eye or detect it with our other senses. This mystery is somewhere else. The mystery has been hidden for ages and generations but now makes itself manifest to God’s people.
And being one of God’s people, we are persons who have agreed to engage ourselves in spirituality instead of mortality, to believe and know without a doubt that they are one with God right now in ALL actions and reactions. God chose to make known how great we are – The riches of glory of this mystery which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
What does this ‘Christ in you?’ actually mean? It simply means that God, everywhere present, is also individualized inside of and through you, that you can feel God; God is not far off. From the beginning of time, many have believed that God is far-off and so do some in our world today.
The faith of Jesus Christ tells us that we are one with God.
If and when (because all of us are at some point in time), we are faced with a particular problem that seems so overwhelming, a problem that we may have had for a long time, or even a split second, many may think that God has departed. We may falsely think that God is far-off and that we are standing here all alone—defenseless, on the front lines; we may feel we don’t have any help or protection.
Know this and remember – This is not spiritually true. It is certainly not the positive message of Jesus Christ.
In Mark 4:26-29. Jesus is talking about the kingdom of God. Remember, Jesus places this kingdom inside of you.
“The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed upon the ground and should sleep and rise night and day. The seed should sprout and grow and he knows not why. The earth produces of itself. First the blade and then the ear and then the full grain in the ear. When the grain is ripe, at once he puts it in the sickle because the harvest has come.”
All parables that Jesus teaches are about you and me, directly about us and what we are facing in our life and how to spiritually overcome whatever it is that we facing. In this parable, Jesus is teaching that our spiritual consciousness inside of us develops in a mysterious way like seeds develop that are put into the ground.
A spiritual idea that is sown in your mind will grow if it receives the nourishment and the encouragement that it requires. Understanding, faith, persistence, and application allow God’s perfect Divine ideas to unfold in your mind in an orderly manner – almost analogous to the way we fertilize our soil today; the better the combination, the more powerful the earth becomes.
I love how Jesus is talking about an orderly manner when He says, “first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.” We must not expect to reap a harvest as soon as the seed is sown. All of us, have impatiently said, “God, you didn’t answer my prayer.”
A positive affirmation, a prayer, is a seed inside of your mind. And as such, you have to allow it to grow. And it will grow. It will rise up and become magnificent. It will take over your mind and then your life if you allow it to grow in an orderly progression.
“An oak tree is an acorn that refused to give up its ground!”
Now, we can’t reap a productive harvest right after we sow the seed. And in the same way, we can’t get our whole good right after we pray and plant God’s perfect seeds in our minds.
Our spiritual development is very similar to our physical development. It progresses; so never give up on your prayers and meditations and affirmations. Allow the progress to expand and your miracles will happen.
“A woman used the fertilizer “Miracle Grow” in her garden. She had marigolds the size of a man. Use a Miracle Grow inside of your own mind. The way to do that is by allowing the seeds that you sow, Divine ideas that God sows inside of you, to take root in the soil of solid faith. Don’t doubt. Allow them to grow by being patient and faithful. “
Remember, the Bible said, in time, you have to take the sickle to that to get the harvest. That means that in time you have to take action. Let’s say that God gives you a perfect Divine idea concerning your life today. Allow that to grow inside of your mind for a while. Do not kill it with doubt.
We have to memorize the words of God that inspire within us, instead of misery-izing our problems, making them seem bigger than they are.
You are guided by God to do something beyond your current self and your current abilities. Being guided by God to do something means that you HAVE TO DO something eventually. You have to take action on that Divine idea or it withers inside of you like un-harvested corn does on the stalk.”
In Matthew 13:24. Jesus said: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then has it weeds?’
“He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ But he said, ‘No. Lest in the gathering the weeds you will root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. And at the harvest time I will tell the reapers, ‘Gather the weeds first. Bind them in bundles to be burned. Gather the wheat into my barn.’”
We have a lot of negative thinking inside us. It is always based on fear and doubt – that is our enemy. But, we also have a lot of positive spiritual thought, and that positive fruit is growing. But amongst that are the weeds, the negativity. How did this happen?
Truly, an enemy came in the night while we slept. These are the times we are not alert or aware. We let our defenses down and start to worry and fear again – fear of the future, our health, our family, etc. etc.
That, too, is like a prayer, but in reverse. It has the same workings inside of your mind.
Your mind is like a field and this is planted there. Then you wake up and your other thoughts say, “You planted so many good thoughts. You prayed for five solid hours. How come there are also lots of nasty WEEDS in there?” That’s because we slept for a while and we let BOTH grow.
The one thing that we do not want to do is destroy the whole field and start again, because there is God’s good in that field.
We wait until it’s time for the harvest.
What is the harvest inside of you? It’s when you know, without a doubt, that you are gaining your strength daily from God with His Divine ideas, and not harvesting the weeds. It’s when you know, without a doubt, that you’re going to be healthy again because God told you so, and you know that you can count on God. It is when you know, without a doubt, that you will be the victor over your problem, no matter how great that problem is in your life. It’s at that time that you can go in, divide the good from the bad, and do the harvest of ONLY the good God-based thoughts.
You are the assured farmer when you do that. You take the sickle of your mind and say, to all the false thinking “You’re nothing to me.” Then you burn them, transform them, to a higher state, – to purify.
Convert everything negative in your life and bring it up with the spiritual purifying fire of Spirit. When you do this, it will produce lasting good for you.
You can turn your life around with God’s help. People have taken their greatest negative and made it into their most positive strength. They have taken their greatest adversity and gone so far beyond what they or anyone else thought could happen. This is God’s way, when the bone heals after it is broken, it often becomes strongest at the point of the old break. This is life’s way when you live your life spiritually in God.
Jesus Christ goes on with another parable and says:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”
The God-given spiritual kingdom is within you and me, created by God and has so many good fields and so many full harvests, that you are producing a kingdom of endless good – if you allow it.
Now, these ideas of spirituality within our conscience started very small inside of us. They were so small you couldn’t even feel them. They were the smallest of seeds inside of your mind; they are inside of you from birth. God’s ideas tell us how great we are, but human ideas have often told us how little we are. You had been told that you would never amount to anything, or you might have said that to yourself, on many occasions. But there’s something inside of you that is growing. This is God-given perfect Divine ideas. And if a Divine idea is allowed to grow inside of you, it will grow and become the most magnificent tree in the field. The birds of the air will come and make their nests in this Tree OF LIFE.
Every thought inside of your mind will eventually have its nest in that tree of God inside of you as long as the enemy inside of you doesn’t come and destroy your awareness of your spiritual potential.
The enemy is the deceiver. We must never give in to the messages of this enemy. It may come as subliminal messages of others, thing we read or hear, even things from social media. Always trust the God given messages that act as pure fertilizer to our planted seeds of spirituality as they grows into the beautiful and heavenly plants of our life.
Jesus said to look beyond appearances—to the mystery hidden behind the appearances.
If we use ONLY our five senses as a total witness of what is happening in our life now, instead of allowing the spiritual mystery—the almightiness of God,, we are missing out on great spiritual help.
Jesus says, “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven which a woman took and hid three measures of flour till it was all leavened.” We have to take deliberate action if we are to come into a higher realization of God’s Truth. Even as it is necessary to put leaven into bread to make it rise and to make it good to eat, so we must put leaven inside of our three measures. We are not just a body. We are also a mind. a Spirit, and a soul.
And when we put the leaven of Spirit inside, everything changes in every one of the three measures of you and your outer life. Life becomes such a wonderful, joyous experience.
Jesus Christ said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field which a man found and then covered up. And then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and he buys that field.”
“Many of you have discovered God’s Truth in quite an unexpected way.
You open up and find this hidden treasure and you look at it and can’t believe the wonder of it. Maybe you’re a little ashamed of your possibilities and you cover it up quickly because you don’t want family members to see or you don’t want friends to see. You just cover it up.
But then you can’t help yourself. Your joy starts to shine out of your eyes. People start to say, “You are different. What have you done?” You begin to beam. And then you begin to realize that this is what is important in life. Then you go and sell all the others things that haven’t meant anything to you and you buy the field, because you have found the hidden secret of life.”
Jesus goes on to say, “The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls who, upon finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” This is very much like the last parable. It’s teaching that there is a tremendous desire in all of us to have the greatest pearl of all. You have been in search of a wide variety of pearls all of your life and you have tried many different things. Most of those pearls have been in the outer. You may have tried new jobs, new locations for living, new homes, new cars, new friends . . . but you’re still searching for the ultimate pearl. When you find it, you go and sell everything you have because you have a desire, an unconscious desire at first and then a conscious spiritual desire, that takes over in your life.
Let me share something very important. I request that you change every need in your life to a desire. There is a major difference. Needs in your life represent a “lack” human concept which is limited. Lack thinking tends to produce more lack. A heartfelt desire is evidence that God is seeking greater expression of good through you. Change your `needs’ to ‘desires.’
In Ephesians 1:9 it says:
“For He has made known to us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of His will, according to His purpose which He set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time. To unite all things in Him; things in heaven and things on earth; to unite these things.”
Everything that you are in your life, (your home, the church), is a reflection of the inner life of God.
St. Augustine said, “God is a circle whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere.”
Realize that you are right at the core of God’s circle, and everything you touch and see is touched and seen by God also; you realize that you are never separate from the Creator. You realize that you are never separate from the solution, the answer to your challenge, or problem in life.
That is the mystery.
That is also the solution to the mystery.
May each of you realize the mystery, find the seed and plant it, and watch the solution to the mystery grow and become fruitful in your life.
God Bless You!
Pray with me.
Revelation 22 says, “The pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God.”
The river of life is within you. It is the river of your spiritual thought-stream and it is flowing all the time – the ceaseless, endless flow of your thought, a wellspring that is fed from the perfect pure ocean of God. It is a ceaseless prayer stream of your being, giving you life.
Lord, we ask that during the night and in the day, asleep or awake, You immerse us in the perfection of that pure river, and that You help us become and remain one with You. Help us to fertilize the planted seeds and with utmost devotion, help us to our thought-stream pure and clean, just as it springs from You. Amen
